My friend and I decided to take a much needed girl's trip to The Pines Resort. This resort was the perfect getaway spot for the on the road adventures we wanted to do. More than the perfect girl's trip spot, as a mom, I can see myself bringing my family on vacation here. I loved the nature, the Bass Lake family activities and so many more other things that can be done here with my family!
The Location
The Pines Resort is located in Bass Lake, California on the Sierra National Forest. It is located 18 miles outside of Yosemite‘s south gate entrance and 57 miles from the Fresno Yosemite International Airport.

The Rooms
You have the option to choose between mountain chalets, cabins, deluxe lakefront suites, and other suites.
Our room: 2 Queen Beds Lakeview Chalet
Our chalet was 720 square feet, featured 2 queen beds in the downstairs bedroom and a pull-out sofa in the upstairs living room, opening up to a semi-private deck with a table, chairs, and a charcoal barbeque. In addition, our chalet came with a fully-equipped all-electric kitchen with basic cookware, dishes, and utensils and a fireplace. The chalets are different than the cabins. Each chalet shares a building with another chalet (kind of a duplex style).
Here are a few pictures of the front of our chalet.
Our balcony view.
Upstairs is the living space with deck and downstairs you find the two queen beds and bathroom.
This is the living room. The whole chalet has a mountain cabin feel to it.
The bedroom has a window with lake views.
This chalet is perfect for a girl's trip because it has 2 queen size beds to sleep comfortably but it is also perfect for any family vacation because it also has the sleeper sofa in the living room upstairs. Enough room for a family of 5-6. If you have a bigger family, this resort does offer rental houses and cabins that sleep from 8-12 people!
The Views
Honestly, one of the best parts of the hotel is the view! If you are waking up to a lake view, going to the pool or hot tub or enjoying dinner at their restaurant, Ducey's on the Lake, you will be in awe with nature.
We were pretty much on the road most of the time during our stay because we wanted to explore national parks and views around the resort. Here are a few activities to do in and around the hotel:
-Drive through Yosemite National Park
-Hike to any of the falls at Yosemite
-Rent a bike from Pedal Forward Bikes
-Rent a boat and spend a day at the lake
-Visit Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias
-Relax by the pool or hot tub at the resort
-Eat dinner with sunset lake views at Ducey's on the Lake
The Restaurant (Ducey's on the Lake)
My overall favorite food during our whole getaway was the day I ate dinner at Ducey's. We had a 20 minute wait during dinner rush hour. While we waited for our table to be ready, we went outside by the lake to take pictures of the amazing sunset. We then got buzzed to get our table and were seated on a table with lake view and finished enjoying the sunset lake views from our table. If you ever visit the hotel, you definitely MUST visit Ducey's. When I tell you their food is GOOD, is not an exaggeration. For dinner I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potato, macaroni and Caesar salad. I truly loved the whole dinner. The taste was DELICIOUS! It had been a long time that I go to a restaurant with food this GOOD.

In Conclusion
In conclusion, The PInes Resort is the perfect getaway if you are needing a mental break, summer vacation with the kids, or just passing by on the road. Make your reservations here.
